Admission
How admission works
Membership is admitted, not purchased. The steps below are the whole process; there is no portfolio, no translation test, and no years-of-experience threshold.
Seven steps
From checking fit to activation
Each step is short. You can stop and resume on any device with the link we send.
Check fit
Choose the pathway that describes you. There is no question about translation experience at admission; experience is asked after activation and only shapes your training route.
Verify your email
A six-digit code confirms the address. You can resume on any device with the link we send; no account is created yet.
Provide one piece of evidence
One piece of evidence for your admission pathway. Uploads are converted to images for review and the original file is deleted.
Read and accept the declarations
Ethics, confidentiality, truthful claims, AI responsibility, and the membership-versus-certification distinction, each with its version recorded.
Save a payment method
Your card is saved with Stripe and nothing is charged. You see the amount charged today ($0), the first annual charge if approved, the standard renewal, and the no-charge-if-denied statement before entering any details.
Review and decision
Complete applications are reviewed under versioned rules or by a reviewer. Applications are never approved at the instant of submission, and no application is denied automatically.
Approval, charge, activation
Approval is released, the first-year dues are charged, and a successful charge activates your membership. You then receive your Member ID and the onboarding invitation by email.
After the decision
Possible outcomes
If payment needs authentication you receive a secure link. If a card is declined you receive a link to update it, and your approval is held for a limited time. If an application is not approved, you are not charged and the decision email explains the appeal path.
Membership
Apply for membership
Applications are reviewed by people. A payment method is saved with your application and charged only if you're approved.
